Gold Star Chili's launches Oktoberfest Cheese Coney

Cincinnati's Oktoberfest celebration has been recognized as the second largest in the world, outside of Munich, Germany. In keeping with that theme, Cincinnati-based Gold Star Chili has introduced the Oktoberfest Cheese Coney.

The "Zinzinnati-style" Oktoberfest Cheese Coney features a brat, spicy brown mustard, Gold Star Chili, cheese and optional sauerkraut.

"From late August through early October, the 'flavor' of the Greater Cincinnati area is decidedly German and celebratory fest-focused," said Charlie Howard, Gold Star Chili vice president of Marketing. "Gold Star saw the opportunity to merge two great traditions, Oktoberfest and the Cincinnati-style cheese coney, into a tasty new flavor variation on one of our classic menu items. We're hoping that it will become a new seasonal Tri-State tradition."

The Oktoberfest Cheese Coney is available at all Gold Star Chili locations throughout Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky through Oct. 6.
