Golden Chick makes Walmart entry in Texas

Golden Chick has brought its second restaurant in the city of Midland, Texas, to the local Walmart. The Walmart is located at 200 Interstate 20, according to a press release.

The restaurant is owned and operated by franchisee John Anderson. It's the fourth Golden Chick in his portfolio. It's the first Golden Chick to open within Walmart.

"We are incredibly excited to kick off this new venture with John," Mark Parmerlee, CEO of Golden Chick, said in the press release. "As a brand, we have admired the growth the Midland community has undergone over the years, making it an easy choice to continue to expand within the trade area. The city of Midland and Walmart are allowing us to try something new in terms of how we reach potential guests. We're looking forward to seeing John continue to grow alongside us with his fourth Golden Chick restaurant."

This will be the 11th Golden Chick location to open in 2024, with plans for even more store count growth before the year's end. The new addition expands the brand's presence within Texas, following its plans for aggressive growth into new and already-loved markets.

"We're looking at big changes in terms of brand presence, evolution and innovation," added Parmerlee. "We are jumping at any and all opportunities to further the upward trajectory of Golden Chick."

Golden Chick has more than 230 locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and opening soon Nevada.
