Golden Chick has expanded its Texas footprint with two openings in November. The brand opened restaurants in Fort Worth and Houston, marking its 16th and 17th openings for the year, according to a press release.

The locations are part of multi-unit agreements owned by tenured franchisees Jim Stevens and Scott Stevenson, and franchisees Salim and Eliyan Muman, owner of Universal Food Corp. LLC, based out of Sugar Land, Texas. Both parties also have additional restaurants under construction that are set to open within the next year.

"Celebrating our 16th and 17th 2023 openings in the same week is a testament to what we've been able to overcome in terms of construction delays and supply chain issues," Mark Parmerlee, CEO of Golden Chick, said in the release. "Fort Worth and Houston have both been incredibly successful markets for us from both corporate and franchise growth perspectives. We're eagerly awaiting Golden Chick's continued growth in these areas as well as within our home state of Texas."

With upcoming openings planned in Las Vegas and Mississippi, Golden Chick is quickly creating new boundaries outside of its regional presence within U.S. states including Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and Louisiana.

"We've maintained our goal of achieving 10% overall store count growth this year in the face of multiple construction challenges," Parmerlee said in the release. "Arriving at our 17th opening makes this dream so much more tangible as we round out what has been a truly historic year for the brand."

Golden Chick has more than 210 locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and Louisiana.
