GoodData report highlights big data role for restaurants

June 27, 2016

Big data can help restaurant owners analyze customer location-based information which can lead to improved customer service and improve overall business.

That's the focus of a new guide, available for free on Fast Casual and sponsored by GoodData. It explains how to collect information from all aspects of a business to lead significant improvements in the bottom line.

The guide incorporates how to track information from the point of sale, as well as marketing, accounting, inventory and scheduling systems.

Jeff Morris, vice president of strategy at GoodData, encourages restaurants to take advantage of these services.

"You should push the metrics you generate out to all your different location managers or franchise owners, and your franchisees should share data with each other and with the parent group. It's very important for restaurant operators and the parent group to be able to measure everything and to have deeper-level KPIs beyond the average unit volume of a store," he said.
