June 14, 2009
NEW YORK — NexCen Brands Inc. has announced the opening of the first Great American Cookies franchised store in Mexico. The store opened in Bosco Vallarta Zapopan in Jalisco, one of the 31 Mexican states.
This is the first store to open under an existing master franchise agreement signed in October 2008, which allows for a minimum of 30 Great American Cookies stores and 15 Pretzelmaker stores to be opened in Mexico over 15 years. The agreement calls for stand alone and co-branded stores throughout the region.
"Our ability to consistently secure new franchise agreements and open stores around the world, demonstrates the transportability and popularity of our franchised brands," said Kenneth J. Hall, CEO of NexCen Brands Inc. "The new Great American Cookies store in Jalisco marks the first of many upcoming openings in this market and we are excited about the future opportunities in Mexico."
