Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are adding Kellogg's Froot Loops Mini Donuts to their menus as LTOs, a news release said.
The items first appeared on the QSRs' menus last year as breakfast and snack items in five colors. Marketing centered on the nostalgia invoked by the colorful cereal-inspired pastries that harken back to the childhood breakfast table for many.
The $1.99 LTOS come bundled in portable packages, which Kellogg Commercial Marketing Vice President Kristin Kroepfl said "reflect our understanding of consumers' evolving tastes and lifestyles.
Hardee's will get the doughnuts on Feb. 25, and Carl's Jr. will have them by Feb. 27.
