A family-owned Arby's restaurant on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood has closed its doors after 55 years due to California's $20-an-hour minimum wage law, according to a New York Post report.
General manager Gary Husch said inflation and food costs also played factors in the restaurant's closing. Husch is the son-in-law of Marilyn Leviton, who opened the location in January 1969, according to the report.
"I'm awfully sorry that it came to this. I think we did a good job for 55 years," Leviton told KTLA-TV.
California raised its minimum wage from $16 to $20 April 1.
