CARLSBAD, Calif. — Hot Dog on a Stick said it will donate 10 percent of its lemonade sales on National Lemonade Day, Sunday, Aug. 20, to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. According to a news release, this initiative will raise awareness and aid in research for childhood cancer.
The company said the partnership is the latest component in Hot Dog on a Stick's year-long 60th anniversary celebration.
"In our partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, we hope to encourage every person to join the fight against pediatric cancer — one cup of lemonade at a time," said Fredrica Thode president and chief executive. "We are making this contribution with heartfelt regard toward the cause and the Foundation during a year that is very special to us."
The company's recent contributions include $10,000 to Save the Children Foundation; more than $16,000 to American Red Cross; and more than $10,000 along with a donation of school supplies to Hurricane Katrina victims.
