Immokalee workers plan McDonald's protest
February 14, 2007
Reuters: A group of migrant farmworkers hope that protests planned for next month outside McDonald's Oak Brook, Ill., headquarters will persuade the fast-food giant to pay more for tomatoes the company purchases. The group, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, persuaded Taco Bell to adopt a similar deal in March 2005 as a way to increase wages paid to tomato pickers in Florida.
