In-N-Out plans first Indian reservation location

August 23, 2013

In-N-Out Burger will open its first location on tribal land early next year. The restaurant will be located off the Interstate 10 freeway in Cabazon, Calif., directly adjacent to the Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa.

The planned construction of the new location also marks the launch of Morongo's master-planned development that spans several miles along the Interstate 10 Freeway.

"We are delighted that In-N-Out Burger has chosen the Morongo Indian Reservation as the home for its first restaurant ever on tribal land," said Chairman Robert Martin of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. "Given the current economic environment, Morongo is happy to be developing a new project that will not only bring new business activity and jobs to our region but will also generate future economic development opportunities."

Morongo is currently working with Forest City Enterprises Inc., a national real estate company, to further explore and expand the tribe's retail, hospitality, and service-related capabilities.
