Income up, revenue down at Nathan's last fiscal year

Income was up, but both sales and revenue were down at Nathan's Famous over the past quarter, as well as its 2017 fiscal period that ended Dec. 25, 2016, according to a news release. The company did not issue any other information or executive response with today's results.
Quarter results include:
- Income from operations increased 7.2 percent to $4,754,000 from the same quarter in the previous fiscal year.
- Adjusted EBITDA grew 6.5 percent to $5,255,000 over the same quarter in the previous fiscal year.
- Net income increased 61.8 percent to $699,000, compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
- Earnings per diluted share grew from $0.10 in the same period of the previous fiscal year to $0.17 per share in 2016.
- Revenues dropped from $20,564,000 at this time in 2015 to $19,937,000 in 2016.
For the 39 week period ending Dec. 25, 2016, results include:
- Operations income grew 5.5 percent to $21,609,000, from $20,477,000 during the previous 39-week period.
- Adjusted EBITDA, grew 4.7 percent over the previous comparable period, to $23,231,000.
- Net income grew 20.9 percent to $6,756,000 over the previous comparable period.
- Earnings per diluted share increased to $1.61 per share, as compared to $1.24 per share for the previous comparable period.
- Revenues dropped to $77,366,000, from $81,837,000 for the previous 39 weeks.
