ISI named exclusive seating, décor provider for McDonald's Canada

Milwaukee-based Interior Systems Inc. is playing a large role in McDonald's ongoing reimaging program. ISI has been a key supplier of these new interior designs, manufacturing and installing the new seating and décor packages for hundreds of locations throughout the McDonald's system. Now, McDonald's Canada has selected ISI as its sole seating and décor supplier.

McDonald's said last month in its latest quarterly earnings call that the company is continuing its re-imaging investment worldwide with plans to freshen the interiors and exteriors of more than 2,000 locations this year, including 400 to 500 in the United States. About 1/3 of McDonald's U.S. stores have undergone re-imaging since the program began about five years ago.
With the re-imaging, the McDonald's of the past, with its dated furnishings and décor, is quickly changing. In much the same way styles vary in the fashion industry, ISI provides cutting-edge interiors to help McDonald's and other businesses keep pace with current trends and customer expectations.
Lindsey Bovinet, president and CEO of ISI, said McDonald's push for inviting, modern interior designs to accommodate a variety of clientele has allowed the company to emerge as a leader in these fresh interiors among quick-service restaurants.
"Customers seek dining 'destinations,' thus raising the standard for quick-serve restaurants," he said. "This has prompted the inclusion of upholstered booths and chairs, lounging areas and new color palettes into the décor of many restaurants."
ISI offers its services to other restaurant chains as well. The benefits of re-imaging programs include:
- New lobby areas welcome customers with a variety of seating options
- Fresh colors, contemporary lighting and fixtures make the new interior relevant for today's consumer
- Sleek chairs and tables around the perimeter of the restaurant provide quick seating for individuals
- Expansive bar height tables situated near flat-panel TVs accommodate those stopping in for a quick meal, while those who wish to linger can enjoy cozy 'lounging banquette' areas
