Leaders of a 23-year-old Florida-based Italian ice and soft ice cream chain said their Jeremiah's Italian Ice brand is on track to have 100 stores open in two years after it began franchising six months ago. The 23-location dessert chain said in a news releases that it has sold more than 50 franchises to 24 franchisees, including 14 that signed multi-unit contracts.

As a result, by 2022 the brand expects it will have 100 stores up and running, each offering more than 40 flavors of Italian Ice and soft ice cream, as well as a synthesis of those two core products, the Jeremiah's Gelati, that swirls the two frozen confections together.

"We are a bold, playful brand. You feel the energy and vibrant spirit the moment you walk in," Jeremiah's founder and CEO Jeremy Litwack, said in the release. "We have an unlimited free samples policy because we want to better engage our customers and get them to try something out of the ordinary. It keeps them coming back because they know there's always something new for them to try."

The holding company, Pivotal Growth Partners, is working with Jeremiah's to facilitate nationwide growth. Initial expansion plans target the Southeast, including Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arizona and Texas.
