Flint, Michigan-based Halo Burger has added beer to the menu at its Birch Run location, and to celebrate, the nearly 100-year-old chain is hosting a tap party Thursday, according to a company press release. The event will include swag, music and appearances from local celebrities, and customers will also have the chance to take home a Halo Burger pint glass
"We really wanted to make sure this was something that didn't change what we stand for," Co-owner Daniel Stern said in the release. "Halo Burger has been known for great burgers and fries for generations and that's something we're really proud of. We see this as a way to continue to give our guests more options to have a great experience in our restaurant."
Halo Burger's tap includes Bud Light, Angry Orchard and seasonal brew Samuel Adams Octoberfest. Frankenmuth Brewery's Hefeweizen Ale — brewed just 7 miles away from the restaurant — is also available. The company said it hopes to add more Michigan-brewed beers on tap in the future.
