It's true: Dunkin' Donuts testing a donut sandwich

April 4, 2013

Perhaps inspired by the news-making donut burger unveiled at a New York fair a couple of years ago, Dunkin' Donuts is reportedly testing a glazed donut breakfast sandwich. According to Eater.com, some units in eastern Massachusetts are currently selling the item, which features bacon and a pepper fried egg served inside a plain glazed yeast donut.

In 2009, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts were used to create a burger at another fair, featuring a whopping 1,500 calories.

Eater.com spoke to a Dunkin' Donuts rep about the new test, who said the company is "constantly striving to offer a wide variety of products to satisfy the needs of our guests."
