Jack in the Box will makes its Ohio debut sometime this summer in the Cincinnati market.
According to Cincinnati.com, the first unit will open in the West Chester suburb, near I-75.
Several more Jack in the Box restaurants are planned for the Cincinnati market, as well as in Northern Kentucky, which would mark the chain's first footprint in the Bluegrass State.
Jack in the Box added 31 new stores in 2011, and plans to open 25 to 30 this year. Last month, the company opened in Indianapolis, its first restaurant in Indiana. Spokesperson Brian Luscomb said it has received a "strong response" thus far.
California-based Jack in the Box has a presence in 19 states, with Indiana being its newest. Its presence east of the Mississippi River includes Illinois (2 units) Indiana (1 unit), Tennessee (1 unit), North Carolina (14 units) and South Carolina (1 unit).
There are more than 2,100 restaurants in the Jack in the Box system nationwide.
