Jimboy's continues Orange County expansion

November 1, 2018

Jimboy's Tacos will open its fourth Orange County, California location on Alton Parkway this coming Nov. 13, a news release said.

As part of the new store's grand opening that Tuesday, beginning at noon, customers will get free ground beef tacos with any purchase. The store is also hosting a fundraiser on Nov. 27 to give 20 percent of that day's sales to the non-profit, Talk About Curing Autism.

The Irvine location is the third Jimboy's opened by franchisees, David Angulo and Lynette Romero, who opened stores in Huntington Beach and Brea this summer. The release said the pair are looking for other locations in Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, as well as other Orange County cities.

"Both the Huntington Beach and Brea locations have maintained impressive sales since first opening this summer, and I think that really speaks to how receptive and welcoming Orange County has been to Jimboy's Tacos so far," Jimboy's Tacos CEO Bob Andersen, said in the release. "We anticipate the Irvine location to produce the same healthy sales numbers, represent our brand and vision, and continue spreading the word about Jimboy's Tacos to residents across Orange County."

Jimboy's expansion reaches outside of Southern California alone, and includes recent store openings in Lemmon Valley, Nevada and Rancho Cordova, California earlier this year. Before year's end, Jimboy's Tacos plans to open two additional California locations in Folsom and Sacramento. Jimboy's CEO Andersen just took part on a panel at the Fast Casual Executive Summit in Seattle, during which he discussed some of the customer issues the chain has faced in its California locations, as a story yesterday on this website detailed.
