Jimboy's opens 1, with 1 on way in Orange County, California

August 23, 2018

Jimboy's Tacos will open an Orange County location Tuesday on Imperial Highway in Brea and is rewarding its first guests — beginning at noon — with free ground beef tacos with any in-store purchase, a news release said.

This will be the third Orange County location for the chain and second to open this summer, along with the Anaheim and Huntington Beach stores. In addition to their Huntington Beach and Brea locations, Franchisees David Angulo and Lynette Romero will add an Irvine location in September, with additional locations being scouted across Orange County, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.

The brand is partnering with Brea-based nonprofit, Together We Rise, for an in-store fundraiser on Aug. 29, to donate 20 percent of the event's proceeds to the organization that works to improve the lives of children in foster care.

"Since opening Huntington Beach, we have seen an incredible response to the brand in a relatively new market for Jimboy's," CEO Bob Andersen said in the release. "The success of the concept in Orange County so far has been very exciting, and we look forward to continuing to expand into cities throughout Southern California."

The concept's aggressive expansion reaches outside of Southern California and includes recent store openings in Lemmon Valley, Nevada in July and Rancho Cordova, California in March of this year. In the coming months, Jimboy's Tacos will open additional locations in Sacramento County, with plans for stores in Rocklin and downtown Sacramento's DOCO area this fall.

The brand expects to open 20 more locations by 2019, and is on target to have 100 locations by 2020. Jimboy's has 40 locations in Northern California and Reno, Nevada.
