Kahala Brands — parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, sweetFrog and 28 other limited service brands — announced a nationwide partnership with on-demand platform, DoorDash this week. To bring the new feature in with some promotional punch, this week more than 700 participating Kahala Brands locations will delivery orders of at least $10 at no charge for customers who use the code, KAHALA, when placing orders with DoorDash, a news release said.
Kahala Brands is the first multi-concept restaurant group to launch several brands on the DoorDash platform at once. The release said more than 25 of the company's 30 brands will be involved with the partnership, which both companies see as a potential growth booster for the brands and the platform nationally.
"We recognize that in today's marketplace customers want their food to come to them, so that's exactly what we are doing," Kahala Brands Senior Vice President of Marketing Steve Evans said in the release. "Our mission is to create great experiences that make people want more and DoorDash will assist us in fulfilling that mission nationwide."
The Scottsdale-based Kahala Brands is owned by MTY Food Group Inc. and includes more than 3300 locations in roughly 30 countries under limited service brands like Blimpie and TacoTime, among others. DoorDash is now in more than 4,000 cities and all 50 states, as well as Canada.
