Kentucky Fried Chicken is going all in with its Chicken & Donuts menu item, offering it as a nationwide LTO beginning Monday following a successful test run in several markets late last year, a news release said.
The brand said the popularity of the item has been outsized, so it is debuting the offering on Saturday with a Los Angeles pop-up shop called "The Colonel's (Chicken &) Donuts Shop" in a place KFC said it considers the doughnut capital of the world.
The North La Brea Avenue temporary restaurant opens at 10 a.m. local time and closes at 3 p.m., and will give the first 50 people in line a free Colonel's Dozen, with its Extra Crispy chicken tenders and six glazed doughnuts.
The LTO will be offered nationwide beginning Monday in several options ranging in price from $5.49 to $7.99. Those include a basket meal with Extra Crispy tenders and one to two doughnuts and a sandwich with an Extra Crispy filet between two glazed doughnuts.
Louisville, Kentucky-based KFC now has more than 23,000 KFC restaurants in 140 countries and territories.
