KFC debuts Guitar Hero World Tour 'KFC Rocks' contest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — KFC is launching the "KFC Rocks" Guitar Hero World Tour contest in conjunction with the video game's recent launch and KFC's branded in-game integration and on-cup video game promotion. The contest allows gamers to attempt to beat Guitar Hero expert Dave Barley's high score for the chance to win a year's supply of KFC Original Recipe Fully Loaded Box Meals and $2,500.
Barley, one of the top Guitar Hero players in the world, recently posted his Guitar Hero World Tour score to beat and will attend an exclusive contest launch event Oct. 29 at Rebel night club in New York. Through Nov. 24, fans who think they can outscore the Guitar Hero expert can submit photos of their high scores via www.kfc.com for a chance to win. Complete contest rules are posted on the Web site.
In addition to the "KFC Rocks" contest, KFC is holding the KFC Ultimate Gameroom Sweepstakes. With the purchase of one of five different limited edition Guitar Hero collector's cups featuring characters from the game, KFC fans receive one of five Guitar Hero World Tour cheat codes and also have a one in six chance to instantly win free KFC products.
By entering the code from the cup's peel-off at www.kfcrocks.com, consumers also have the chance to win an "Ultimate Gameroom," including a 42-inch plasma screen TV, a home theater surround sound system and more. No purchase is necessary. Odds are approximate.
The KFC Original Recipe Fully Loaded Box includes two Original Recipe Strips, a KFC Snacker, choice of a drumstick or thigh, two individual homestyle sides, a biscuit and a 32-oounce drink.
