After a continued loss of business to Chick-fil-A, who now holds the title for chicken mega-chain king, KFC has finally slid into action by bringing Colonel Harland Sanders back to life to introduce its Southern-style menu items, according to theWashington Post.
Jumping on the millennial trend bandwagon, the company also plans to remodel numerous stores to include the name of the regional farm where the chain's chickens were raised. Beyond this trend, KFC has changed nothing in the way of healthier foods, but is instead banking on its nostalgia and Southern charm to win back favor.
Like McDonalds, KFC has lost business to fast casuals such as Chipotle Mexican Grill and others, the article said, and is now struggling against the growing popularity of Popeyes Louisiana Chicken and Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits.
