LOUISVILLE, Ky. — To give a break to the millions of Americans on the road this Fourth of July weekend, KFC is promoting its new KFC $5 Fill-Up Boxes with a gasoline discount offer.
For one day, July 1, the Big Ten Mart in Davenport, Iowa, along I-80, will be transformed into the KFC Filling Station. All money collected at the KFC Filling Station will be donated to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
The new $5 Fill-Up Boxes allows guests to choose any combination of a two-piece meal (breast & wing or drumstick & thigh), three Original Recipe chicken strips, the Twister Wrap, five Hot Wings or five Dipped Wings with one side item and a medium drink all for $5.00 plus tax. (Pricing and participation may vary.)

For those unable to hit the road and visit the KFC Filling Station, the KFC $5 Fill-Up Sweepstakes offers a way for Americans nationwide to "fill-up" at home. Consumers can visit the online "filling" station and enter the KFC $5 Fill-Up Sweepstakes. Online visitors can register for the chance to win gas cards and KFC gift checks for $5 Fill-Up Boxes.
The giveaway will be conducted July 2-5 for a randomly determined time period between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Eastern time. The first 200 people to register each day during the giveaway will win.
"Colonel Sanders was no stranger to the gas pump," said Javier Benito, executive vice president of marketing and food innovation for KFC. "In 1930, the Colonel opened his first restaurant in the small front room of a gas station in Corbin, Ky., which he named 'Sanders Court & Cafe.' It was there he perfected his secret blend of 11 herbs and spices and started serving his Original Recipe to road-weary travelers."
