KFC partners with Japanese fashion label on clothing line

Kentucky Fried Chicken is collaborating with fashion designer, Nigo's Human Made imprint, to give an extra crispy twist to the Japanese label.

The KFC-centered 11-piece clothing line makes the brand an even bigger celebrity, particularly with younger audiences, through T-shirts, jackets and accessories, according to a press release.

On Friday, Nov. 16, the joint line with be front-and-center in a one-day New York City pop-up at 242 East 14th St. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Nigo in attendance. On Nov. 23, a second debut will take place at HBX and Human Made in Tokyo. 

Hypemaker, Hypebeast Ltd's global creative studio, worked alongside Nigo to to create the Human Made x KFC Capsule Collection. For design inspiration, Nigo visited the KFC headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky and also spent time at the Colonel Sanders Museum, KFC archives and kitchen learning regarding Colonel's storied fried chicken.

"When we heard of Nigo's obsession with Colonel Sanders, we had to invite him for a rare tour of the Colonel's personal archives to help inspire him," KFC Director of Media and Digital Marketing Steve Kelly said in the release. "We're humbled to work alongside both Hypemaker and Nigo in debuting this collection and are proud to have been a small part of his creative process."

The Human Made x KFC Capsule Collection includes a Colonel shop jacket, 70s style racing jacket, hoodies, T-shirts and other items range in  price from $20 to $375.  

Aside from the pop-up shops, a limited number of items will also be available on HBX.com on Nov. 23.
