KFC to become NFL sponsor

September 8, 2009

KFC has signed an agreement to become the National Football League's quick-service marketing partner, according to a story by NASDAQ.com.

From NASDAQ.com:
Details and terms of the marketing deal are being kept under wraps, though it is likely to include cross-promotion of NFL-tagged items at KFC stores. The NFL season kicks off Thursday.

"We'll have details to share as the season goes on," KFC spokesman Rick Maynard said.
KFC's previous NFL sponsorships include the company becoming the "official wing sponsor" of last season's NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl. The agreement included the chain's use of the NFL and Super Bowl logos on KFC Wings buckets and promotional drink cups. KFC also used that NFL sponsorship to hold a Hail Mary Pass promotion, in which the company would make a donation to charity if a team made such a pass during the playoff games.
