KFC is planning on nearly doubling its footprint in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States by 2015. According to The Moscow Times, the company expects about 450 restaurants to be open by then.
This week's restaurant opening in Moscow brought the brand's regional total to 250 units. Eighty percent of the planned growth will be in Russia.
Currently, McDonald's has 378 restaurants in Russia, while Subway has 582.
KFC also has an existing presence in the Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
