KFC UK: 'No specific issues with gravy'

After news reports globally Thursday that KFC UK was experiencing a gravy shortage, just days after its much-publicized chicken delivery problems, the company responded to QSRweb, saying, "We can confirm there is no specific issue with gravy."

In an emailed response to this site's inquiry, the chain said that the "vast majority" of its restaurants had the sauce available, though it added that "a few may not have it owing to the ongoing distribution challenges DHL is experiencing."

Last week, the chain had a major delivery snafu with its chicken deliveries during the transition from its former product transportation service, Bidvest Logistics, to DHL in mid-February. The chain's Twitter feed in the U.K. and Ireland reported that more than 90 percent of its 900 stores were open, though some had limited menus.
