Less than a month after a supply chain snafu that left KFC U.K. stores short of chicken, KFC has returned to its previous logistics company, Bidvest, the Guardian reported.
At the end of February, the chain switched to DHL to get its chicken and other products to 900 stores in the U.K. But on the first "go-live" day of that contract a series of events left hundreds of stores either short on chicken or completely out of the brand's namesake product.
DHL won the contract when it was put out for bid last year, but this week Bidvest said it had signed "a long-term agreement to supply around a third of KFC's 900 restaurants" in the U.K., according to the Guardian.
KFC told the newspaper that the change was made in order to return its operations in the U.K. to normal. The company said that as of this week, "97 percent" of the chain's 900 U.K. outlets are open now.
