national QSR's plant-based "Beyond Chicken" products to the people of Atlanta this week.
On Monday, McDonald's announced it had developed the product and was taking it to Atlanta residents at the Cobb Parkway store there for a one-day test Tuesday. And boy, were the curious QSR customers listening.
A spokeswoman for the global quick-service chain said the brands Beyond Chicken variations of "chicken" nuggets and boneless wings sold out in under five hours after lines first formed at the "green-for-a-day" bucket-topped store around 8 a.m.
KFC said it will evaluate its results of the one-day trial, along with customer feedback about the Beyond Meats product developed for the chicken chain. After considering those factors, the Louisville-based brand said it would determine its next move, including either a larger test or larger rollout, among other possible options.
