The early-September opening of a new Krispy Kreme Doughnut Factory at 10781 Alpharetta Hwy., Roswell, Ga., will mark the start of the chain's planned expansion efforts in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Plans include the construction of a number of new doughnut shops, and the creation of nearly 350 full and part-time jobs by early 2014.
"Krispy Kreme has been in the Atlanta market for decades and it is still incredible to see how well our brand resonates with Atlanta area doughnut and coffee fans," says Cindy Bay, senior vice president of U.S. Franchises and Company Stores for Krispy Kreme. "As Krispy Kreme continues its growth throughout the country, we are especially excited to be bringing new shops, new jobs and a number of delicious new products to this community."
At present, there are eight Krispy Kreme shops in operation throughout metro Atlanta. In September, Krispy Kreme will replace its existing Atlanta Street facility in Roswell with a new 2,500-square-foot shop featuring the company's updated interior design and finishes.
Construction plans are currently underway for the remaining approved sites in Doraville, Smyrna and Stockbridge, Ga. Krispy Kreme is also working to secure sites in Decatur and Duluth, Ga.
Each of the future locations will be an approximately 2,400-square-foot, free-standing facility with a drive-thru and Hot Light, and will feature the company's new prototype interior and exterior design and architecture.
