Krispy Kreme offers doughnuts for price of gallon of gas

Krispy Kreme is offering a dozen doughnuts for the price of a gallon of gas. The promotion is available every Wednesday based on the national average gas price set on Monday. The promo is available from April 13 through May 14, according to a CNN report.

This past Monday, the national average per gallon was $4.11, according to AAA. That means customers can pick up a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $4.11 — it typically sells for around $10, depending on location.

Krispy Kreme often offers its doughnuts in tune to current events, like in January when the Red Cross experienced a blood shortage and the brand gave away doughnuts to blood donors.

With those promotions, Krispy Kreme was trying to "encourage folks to take advantage of a kind offer from us to do something good for others," Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme's chief marketing officer, told the news outlet. "We're just trying to help (people) get through the week."
