Krispy Kreme plans free doughnut giveaway

To mark National Doughnut Day, June 6, Krispy Kreme U.S. and Canadian locations are offering a free doughnut of any variety, no purchase necessary.

According to a news release, National Doughnut Day was established in 1938 by The Salvation Army to raise funds for people in need during the depression era. It is observed every year on the first Friday of June.

The offer, valid for one free doughnut, is available while supplies last June 6 only.
