Krispy Kreme has added Oreo Cookie pieces to its doughnuts and Chiller drink for the new Cookies & Kreme line, available through June 26.
Krispy Kreme's Cookies & Kreme yeast-raised doughnut has an Oreo-infused Kreme filling. It is hand-dipped in white icing, topped with Oreo Cookie pieces and then drizzled with vanilla icing.
The Krispy Kreme Chiller also is made with real Oreo Cookie pieces and is topped with whipped cream and crunchy Oreo Cookie pieces.
"We have combined two legendary tastes, the Oreo Cookie and the Krispy Kreme doughnut, to create a doughnut and Chiller duo that is sure to please a lot of sweet-treat lovers," said Krispy Kreme corporate chef Ron Rupocinski.
Krispy Kreme's new offerings are available in participating U.S. and Canadian retail stores. Product offerings vary by market.
Philadelphia opening celebrated with doughnut burgers
Krispy Kreme is opening a new unit in Philadelphia on May 4. It will be the second location in the region and will offer its signature doughnut varieties, as well as coffee and espresso drinks and baked goods. The Center City unit also will feature organic oatmeal with specialty toppings, granola and fresh fruit, and will be available for catering.
In celebration of the latest opening, PYT, a burger lounge in Philadelphia, has been serving mini Krispy Kreme Burgers all week. The burgers feature a mini sliced and grilled Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut, topped with baby beef patties and housemade chocolate-covered bacon.
