Krispy Kreme will celebrate National Doughnut Day June 3 by offering its guests one free Krispy Kreme Doughnut at participating retail locations. No purchase is necessary to redeem the offer.
The free doughnut offer is good for one doughnut of any variety per customer at participating U.S. Krispy Kreme retail shops.
National Doughnut Day was established in 1938 by The Salvation Army to raise funds to help people in need.
Additionally, Krispy Kreme is currently testing new doughnut milkshakes at five stores in the Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point markets of North Carolina. The company is headquartered in Winston-Salem.
According to the News-Record, the shakes feature soft-serve ice cream and cake doughnut and come in three flavors: Original Glazed, Chocolate Cake and Raspberry Filled.
This experiment comes on the heels of a very successful first quarter for Krispy Kreme, in which the company's net profit more than doubled. Krispy Kreme made $9.2 million, or 13 cents per share, in the quarter, ended May 1. This is its strongest quarterly performance since Q4 2004.
