Krispy Kreme will enter the German market through a franchise agreement with restaurant group ISH Kreme. This marks the company's largest franchise deal to date, according to a press release.

The agreement will bring Krispy Kreme's signature fresh doughnuts to German consumers through a network of shops, with the first location opening in Berlin.

"We are excited to expand into Germany as it has been a priority market for us, offering substantial growth with more than 3,000 points of access," Raphael Duvivier, Krispy Kreme CDO, said in the release. "Additionally, we are very pleased to partner with ISH leader Ilkem Sahin and the very experienced ISH team to grow in the market."

Krispy Kreme's expansion leverages a "hub and spoke" model for efficient production and distribution. Each doughnut is made fresh daily and hand-decorated to ensure the brand's signature taste.

The company expects to introduce popular seasonal offerings like Valentine's Day and Easter doughnuts to German consumers. This news follows Krispy Kreme's successful launch in Paris in December 2023. The German rollout is anticipated for early 2025.

ISH Kreme operates 300 KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants across Germany.

Krispy Kreme operates in more than 35 countries through its unique network of fresh doughnut shops, partnerships with leading retailers and a rapidly growing e-commerce and delivery business with more than 14,000 fresh points of access.
