Krystal names GM of the year

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Krystal Co. has named Rus Morris of Prattville, Ala., its 2008 Krystal Franchise General Manager of the Year, the company has announced. The honor is given annually by The Krystal Co. to one general manager that exceeds a variety of designated requirements.
Morris has been general manger of the Prattville Krystal since Dec. 2002, and is being recognized for his commitment to Krystal standards, employee training, operational excellence and for advancing the Krystal brand. Most notably, Krystal is proud to acknowledge Morris for his excellent management team including eight certified Master Cashiers, a special designation that requires certification and recognizes employees for exceptional customer service and handling of cashier duties.
Morris and his wife will receive an all-paid vacation of their choosing valued at $10,000 and will be recognized in front of more than 400 company-wide employees. Morris' accomplishments with The Krystal Co. also include The President's Club award, an honor bestowed to managers that maintain or exceed a specified sales revenue per year–evidence that his operation has made significant contributions to the Krystal brand.
The Krystal Franchise General Manager of the Year award criteria includes performance evaluation on sales, profit, employee turnover, employee training, operations, customer complaints and standards that focus on food preparation and cleanliness. Morris was chosen from more than 148 Krystal franchise general managers in 11 states for the honor. Franchise partners operate 148 of Krystal's 387 restaurants.
