Krystal names Popeyes' CIO as new VP of IT

The Krystal Company announced Friday the appointment of Kathy Pittman as VP of Information Technology. According to a news release, she will be responsible for the development and delivery of a range of IT initiatives in support of the chain's 352 stores and more than 8,000 employees throughout the Southeastern U.S.

Pittman most recently served as Chief Information Officer for Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, where was responsible for Strategic IT to support and enhance business objectives and tactical execution to maintain current and highly available/reliable IT technology and services, the release said. Prior to AFC, Pittman served as the Global IT Director for Verint Systems where she developed a strategic plan and roadmap for architecture. She has also held leadership positions with Agilent Technologies and the Hewlett Packard Company.

"Kathy has demonstrated strong leadership in establishing and maintaining IT systems throughout her entire career. She knows the importance of positioning IT as a strategic asset and springboard for growth for The Krystal Company. We are extremely excited and fortunate to have this industry professional join the Krystal team," said Doug Pendergast, Krystal president and CEO.

Pittman, who holds BS in Management and MS in IT degrees from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, will report to Pendergast.
