Krystal's blows out the candles on 85 years

From its start on a Chattanooga street corner in 1932 to its status today as a primary QSR brand, Krystal Restaurants has cause to celebrate as it hosts its own 85th birthday party beginning today and continuing for seven weeks. 

As part of the blowout, Krystal is working with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar to hold an 85th birthday giveaway that boasts a $1 million grand prize, a news release said.  Hundreds of other giveaways are featured in the celebration including items from the Krystal menu and an assortment of other merchandise. 

Sweepstakes participation requires a visit to a Krystal's restaurant by Nov. 12, but that's not the only part of the celebration. The brand will host a birthday party on its official opening , Oct. 11. On that Wednesday, customers who visit any of the chain's 360-plus locations will 50-cent Krystal burgers all day long.

There's no limit to the number of Krystals guests can order at the 50-cent price. The offer remains valid as long as supplies of the little square burgers last.
