Participating Little Caesars will hold the fifth annual Pizza Pizza Paws Campaign throughout April, providing portable medical kits to police K-9 units in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio, according to a Herald-Dispatch report.
The campaign aims to raise $30,000 to equip handlers with Kilo-9 NAR Roo IFAK kits, which can be worn during duty to stabilize injured K-9 officers.
"It's an honor to support these K-9 divisions," Vicki Dunn-Marshall, franchisee and owner of VDM Management Group, said in a news release. "They play a vital role in keeping our communities safe."
Many K-9 units rely on donations and personal contributions, often from the handlers themselves.
To raise awareness, participating Little Caesars locations — 49 in West Virginia, six in Kentucky and five in Ohio — will display fundraising thermometers. Additionally, Little Caesars has partnered with the Kilo-9 Foundation to offer free training sessions in West Virginia later this year.
Customers can donate at any participating Little Caesars. Online donations and more information are available at pizzapizzapaws.com.
