Live from New York, it’s Ben & Jerry’s new flavors

Ben & Jerry’s has introduced two Saturday Night Live sketch-inspired flavors: Lazy Sunday and Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch. According to a company news release, these two new flavors are the first in a line of four SNL-inspired flavors.

Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch is a combination of chocolate and sweet cream ice creams, with caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds and a marshmallow swirl. The Lazy Sunday sketch, which features a love of cupcakes, inspired a vanilla cake batter ice cream base with chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces and a chocolate frosting swirl.

“Our fans have a great sense of humor and we share their affinity for the comic genius of Saturday Night Live,” Marketing Manager Lisa Sholk said in the release. “We loved the challenge of creating ice cream personalities for those iconic sketches.”

The flavors will be available exclusively at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops across the U.S. and Canada. The company plans to unveil two more SNL sketch-based flavors later this year to continue a year-long celebration of SNL’s 40th anniversary.
