One McDonald's is banning unchaperoned minors from entering after 5 p.m.
A McDonald's on Lord Street in Liverpool, England has reportedly put a ban on unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 after 5 p.m. due to attacks on staff. The Manchester Evening News reports that a customer said: "As I was leaving the security guard stopped a man he believed to be a teenager and told him they weren't allowing people under 18 into the restaurant after 5 p.m. without an adult with them."
The witness said he had seen security guards moving "large groups of kids" from a local movie theater and park.
A spokesperson from McDonald's said, "Over recent weeks, we have seen an increase in the number of incidents of anti-social behavior in the area with our people being subjected to verbal and physical abuse. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to crime and anti-social behavior, and have temporarily restricted restaurant access to U18s from 5 p.m.
"This decision was not taken lightly and we are working closely with the police to find a resolution and help reduce these incidents."
