Long John Silver's intros Baja Fish Taco with giveaway
June 29, 2009
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Long John Silver's is launching its new Baja Fish Tacos with a food giveaway, the company has announced. Participating Long John Silver's across the nation will give away a free Baja Fish Taco July 14, from opening to 2:30 p.m.
Inspired by the heritage and flavor of Baja California, Mexico, Long John Silver's Baja Fish Tacos feature batter-dipped fish layered inside a soft flour tortilla with crunchy crumblies, crisp lettuce and Baja sauce.
Recently, tortillas and Mexican-inspired flavors ranked high in the National Restaurant Association's "What's Hot in 2009" trend survey. Baja Fish Tacos are anticipated to become one of the most popular indulgences across all Long John Silver's restaurants.
"Fish tacos, a long-time favorite recipe in coastal areas, are rapidly becoming a passion for the rest of the country," said Ben Butler, president of Long John Silver's. "We're proud to be the first quick service restaurant to spread this latest food craze across the nation and meet the needs of contemporary taste buds."
Free Baja Fish Taco Day is an exclusive limited-time and one-day offer on Tuesday, July 14, open to 2:30 p.m., available to dine-in, carry out and drive-thru customers, and limited to one free Baja Fish Taco per customer. The new Baja Fish Tacos are available at all Long John Silver's starting June 22 for the regular price of 99 cents.
