Long John Silver's plans another free nationwide fish fry

July 30, 2014

Long John Silver's is hosting another free fish fry to celebrate its 45th anniversary. On Aug. 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests will receive on fish filet and a serving of natural-cut fries for free.

The offer is limited to one per person, and is available for dine-in or carryout only (drive-thru is excluded) at participating locations.

"The fish fry has long been a part of American history because it combines good food and community togetherness," CEO Mike Kern said in a news release. "Most folks love a fish fry, so we're bringing our communities together again on Saturday to share a meal and experience why Long John Silver's is America's Fish Fry."

This is the second free fish and fries event the brand has hosted during a summer of special events and offers. The events are part of its new campaign, "America's Fish Fry," which is designed to "surprise and delight loyal customers," the company said.

At the first event on June 28, Long John Silver's treated more than 500,000 guests to free fish & fries.

"America's Fish Fry is a continuation of our efforts to encourage Americans to eat more seafood. Our menu has evolved over the last two years to include items that appeal to almost anyone, and we're proud of that evolution," Kern said. "At the same time, we want to celebrate the classic seafood that put us on the map."
