Long John Silver's announced it is raising funds for Children's Miracle Network for the 10th consecutive year by allowing customers to make donations with their orders during October, according to a company press release.

Over the last decade, Long John Silver's has collected more than $5 million for Children's Miracle Network. The donations support research and training, purchase equipment and pay for uncompensated care to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible, the release stated.

"Over the years, our customers have demonstrated their love of children through their donations, and their collective generosity has made a big difference," said Margo Mize, senior vice president of marketing at Long John Silver's. "Children's Miracle Network is a cause that everyone can feel good about, and we're proud to stand behind them."

Since 1983, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals have raised more than $5 billion for 170 children's hospitals across the United States and Canada.

Long John Silver's has more than 1,100 franchised restaurants in the U.S. and Asia.
