Loss narrows at Arby's parent

NEW YORK — Arby's restaurant parent Triac Restaurant Group Inc., which operates approximately 3,600 restaurants through its Arby's Restaurant Group subsidiary, saw systemwide same-store sales increase 1 percent in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31.
 
Comps were up 3 percent for the year, compared with same-store sales increases of 5 percent for 4Q '05 and 2 percent for Fiscal Year 2005.
 
Revenues for the quarter were $332 million, up 9 percent compared with revenues of $305.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2005.
 
Revenues for the year topped $1.2 billion, up 65 percent compared with revenues of $727 million in 2005.
 
Triarc posted a loss of $2.1 million in the fourth quarter, compared with a loss of $16.2 million in 4Q '05. For the year, the company posted a net loss of $11.3 million compared with a loss of $55.6 million in 2005.
