Marble Slab, Rita's launch cause marketing campaigns

Marble Slab Creamery and Rita's Italian Ice have each kicked off cause marketing efforts.
Marble Slab has partnered with internationally acclaimed home and style expert Sandra Lee and the Share our Strength organization in an effort to end childhood hunger in America. Marble Slab Creamery has titled the program "Sandra Lee's Taste of Summer," as Sandra Lee will debut 16 new ice cream Tasty Creations combining Marble Slab Creamery's freshly made ice cream with delicious mix-ins.
Marble Slab Creamery and Sandra Lee will donate $25,000 to Share Our Strength and customers can visitwww.marbleslab.comto make their own contributions throughout the summer. Share Our Strength is the leading organization working to ensure that no child goes hungry in America.
Sandra Lee shares her Semi-Homemade 70/30 culinary philosophy of combining 70 percent ready-made products with 30 percent fresh ingredients to enhance Marble Slab Creamery's summer menu and celebrate the different tastes of summer. Marble Slab Creamery shares a similar philosophy by utilizing freshly made in-store ice cream with a variety of quality toppings and mix-ins.
Marble Slab Creamery is managed by NexCen Franchise Management Inc., a subsidiary of NexCen Brands Inc.
Marble Slab also is promoting the new combinations with an online contest in which the combination with the most will be featured in a forthcoming cookbook by Sandra Lee. Some of the combinations include:
- Memorial Day Madness - May 28 to June 3, Sweet Cream ice cream, mint patties, chocolate sprinkles, fudge topping
- Sweet Strawberry Festival - June 4 to June 10, strawberry ice cream, graham cracker, mini marshmallows, marshmallow topping
- Birthday Beach Party - June 11 to June 17, Birthday Cake ice cream, brownie, rainbow sprinkles, fudge topping
- Dad's Triple Play - June 18 to June 24, Chocolate Swiss ice cream, chocolate cake, chocolate chips, fudge topping

Rita's 5th annual paper lemon campaign
Rita's Franchise Co., parent company of Rita's Italian Ice, has launched its fifth consecutive paper lemon promotion to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to further pediatric cancer research.
From June 1 through June 30, Rita's guests can help put a squeeze on childhood cancer at any of Rita's 550-plus locations by purchasing a paper lemon through a $1 donation. Guests can personalize their paper lemons, which will then be proudly displayed as a part of the local store's "Wall of Hope," a visual tribute to their community's participation in the fundraiser.
Additionally, Rita's will be partnering with Just Born Inc., makers of Mike & Ike Lemonade Blends candies and proud supporters of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. After donating $1, each Rita's guest will receive a free sample pack of Mike & Ike Lemonade Blends candies, while supplies last.

In 2006, Rita's Italian Ice officially became a corporate partner of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. In honor of the foundation's namesake, the late Alexandra "Alex" Scott, Rita's officially renamed its Lemon Ice flavor "Alex's Lemonade." Since becoming a corporate sponsor of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, Rita's has raised more than $2 million for pediatric cancer research and is the foundation's leading corporate donor.
