McDonald's Australia free burger kiosk hack up to 1.6M+ views

April 9, 2019

A viral video of two customers hacking a kiosk at an Australian McDonald's is making the rounds via YouTube. The 2-minute video, which was uploaded this weekend and by Tuesday had more than 1.6 million views, features two men ordering 10 meatless burgers with a discount of $1.10 each, allowing them to pay for the remaining $1 charge on one burger that also had a $1 coupon. End result? Ten burgerless sandwiches and one with a burger for a charge of $0.

When the men requested to check out from the kiosk for their unusual order, it showed that no payment was required but printed out the receipt and order number. Of course, the trick resulted in just one regular burger at no charge. The other 10 were just buns with ketchup and pickles — which the men used to get the 10-cent discount on each and "to pay" for the free burger.

The video was among a handful that QSRweb spotted on YouTube demonstrating hacks of McDonald's kiosks.

As of press time, McDonald's had not responded to a request for comment. .
