McDonald's and basketball champion, entrepreneur and fashion icon Angel Reese have created The Angel Reese Special: a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with cheese that features a new barbecue sauce, the brand's fries and a drink, according to a press release.

It's McDonald's first national meal collab with a female athlete. Reese plays for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association.

"McDonald's has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald's All American in 2020," Reese said in the release. "It's really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald's amazing basketball legacy. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams."

Jennifer J.J. Healan, VP of marketing, brand, content and culture at McDonald's, said there is a connection between the brand and basketball fans.

"We want to continue to fuel their love for the game and support athletes on and off the court," Healan said in the release. "We're excited to bring our legacy with basketball culture to a new generation, and partnering with Angel is only the beginning."

The Angel Reese Special is available beginning Feb. 10 while supplies last.

McDonald's operates approximately 13,500 restaurants.
