For the first time in five years, McDonald's is ushering in a new breakfast LTO, a meat-filled sandwich called Triple Breakfast Stacks, which is debuting Nov. 1, according to a news release.
The item features two slices of American cheese between two sausage patties, topped with bacon and an egg and served on either a McMuffin, biscuit, or McGriddles cakes. The chain said Triple Breakfast Stacks sprang out of customers' online-published inventions using McDonald's existing menu items that some call the chain's "secret menu."
Triple Breakfast Stacks are the first breakfast sandwiches added since the brand's egg white delight McMuffin in 2013.
"Our customers have also told us they have been craving a bigger, more filling sandwich option in the mornings," Vice President of Menu Innovation Linda VanGosen said in the release. "Triple Breakfast Stacks are the latest customer-led menu innovation, and we are proud to share them nationally."
