McDonald's Canada gives away free coffee

April 20, 2009

TORONTO, Ontario — McDonald's Canada is offering Canadians a free coffee giveaway. Consumers visiting McDonald's locations across Canada between April 20 and May 3 will get a small coffee free of charge — no purchase necessary — whenever breakfast is served. "Breakfast continues to be a growth driver for McDonald's Canada, and our coffee sales have been a significant contributor to our business momentum since we introduced our Premium Roast blend in 2003," said John Betts, president of McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Ltd.

Recent figures indicate that in February, McDonald's Canada sold approximately 1.3 million more cups of coffee than during the same period last year.

Further bolstering its hot beverage offerings, McDonald's Canada also has Premium Roast coffee in brewed decaf, as well as a line of Premium Teas in Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe, Peppermint and Green Tea.

The two-week free coffee offer is not valid with any Extra Value Meal or value picks offer.
